It's almost that time, gamers. As summer rapidly approaches, that means we're in store for another Call of Duty reveal soon in the coming months.

June is usually around the time when CoD begins ramping up its marketing towards the yearly launch, so it's approaching quicker than players can grasp, but a rumor that recently popped up over the weekend spread some not-so-encouraging intel about what to expect from it.

Previously reliable leaker Alaix posted on May 3 that they were hearing the new CoD is currently being tested for the PS4, leading many to roll their eyes that the platform is still somehow being used for a new game in 2026. Thankfully, Activision has been quick to stamp it out by confirming that's not the case.

"Not sure where this one started, but it’s not true," Activision said on the main CoD Twitter/X account. "The next Call of Duty is not being developed for PS4." And so a collective sigh of relief was heard across the community.
