Following Sony's footsteps, Nintendo increased the prices for its hardware, namely the Switch 2, bumping up the console by $50 across the board. Now, its president has offered a sincere apology to consumers, saying the company will make up for it by developing a "robust software lineup."

As per Nintendo Everything, the Japanese giant's president Shuntaro Furukawa apologized for the Switch 2's increased cost, with US prices going up by $50, with other regions also affected. Furukawa said Nintendo is well aware of the "inconvenience and trouble" that will be caused by the increase but that it had to be done in light of rising production costs. In fact, he noted that the increased prices do not account for every production cost that has arisen recently, implying the $50 was a conservative hike.
